Bobbing Bug Hotel!
Bobbing Church is home to a brand new Bug Hotel!
Why Bug Hotels?
Bug Hotels are fantastic and are a wonderful way to care for God’s creation and help nature thrive.
They provide safe homes for insects like ladybirds, bees, and beetles, which in turn help pollinate flowers and keep the garden healthy. Building and looking after bug hotels also brings people together — it’s a fun, hands-on way for all ages to learn about wildlife and take part in caring for the environment. Plus, they show that even small actions can make a big difference in supporting the beauty and life all around us.
Bobbing Bug Hotel
Below are three images that show how the wonderful Derek built our bug hotel. The hotel has been constructed out of unused wooden pallets stacked on top of eachother and donated timber and boards to build a roof.
A big thank you to those at Olis-Hay Sittingbourne who donated the items to help us complete this project.
Please do pop down to the church yard and pay a visit to our bug hut.
The bug hut is a wonderful educational resource as well as a place for all types of little creatures to explore and make their homes in.
Our hope is that we will have several more bug hotels over the coming year, a wild meadow and a natural brush pile for winter shelter, so please keep an eye out for our future eco work!
